Ajmer News Desk: A case of digital cheating of a retired government teacher has come to light in Ajmer. The fraudsters, posing as Mumbai Crime Branch officers, cheated the victim of Rs 80 lakh. The victim has lodged a complaint at Christian Gaj police station. Police has registered zero number FIR. The investigation of the case has been handed over to Cyber Police Station SOG Jaipur.
Tricked into depositing Rs 25 lakh
According to Christian Gaj police station, a woman resident of Panchsheel Nagar Community Hall has registered a case in the police station. The woman told that she is a retired government teacher. On November 14, he got a call. In which the person asked him whether he had deposited Rs 25 lakh somewhere. When he refused, the caller said that your money has been transferred, but you do not need to be afraid.
80 lakh rupees became RTGS
The victim told that after this the caller said that Rs 25 lakh has been deposited in your account through your Aadhar card. If your money is of this number then just give us your account information. The victim said that she fell into the trap and told the caller about the account and the amount.
The victim retired teacher told that after this, Rs 80 lakh deposited in her account was transferred to different accounts through RTGS. All instructions were given to him over video call. Whenever the caller called, he was asked to remain in front of the video. A police officer in uniform appeared on the video call who kept consoling him that we are with you, there is no need to be afraid. Considering your age we are not arresting you.
