Ajmer : Ajmer Discom consumers will now get electricity bills on the spot (spot billing). It will start in the district from January 1. Consumers will get discount in the bill amount if they pay the bill immediately. However, since Tata Power has electricity distribution system in Ajmer urban area, it will take time to implement the system. Superintending Engineer Dinesh Singh said that Ajmer Electricity Distribution Corporation will start spot billing from January 1. This work has been given to Bellary Computer and Information Technology Services. In the meeting on Wednesday, necessary instructions were given to the personnel in all the subdivisions of the circle, Kishangarh and Pushkar, for spot billing.
3 lakh 29 thousand consumers
In Ajmer circle, 2.50 lakh consumers are of domestic category, 40 thousand are of commercial category, 36 thousand are of agricultural category and 2500 consumers are of HTA MIP category and other categories. Consumers below twenty-five HP will have spot billing, HI and MIP category consumers above twenty-five HP will be billed from the reading office.
Pilot project was successful
Assistant Engineer Rural was selected for spot billing as a pilot project. Spot billing of Kishangarh rural consumers continues. This experiment has been successful. This will eliminate complaints of consumers like not receiving bills on time, not taking correct meter readings.
This is how you will get concession
Consumers will get the benefit of 0.35 percent discount if the electricity bill is deposited 10 days before the last date of bill due date and 0.15 percent discount if the electricity bill is deposited 7 days before. Meter Readal: Technical personnel will also monitor the meter online and take daily readings.
