Ajmer : Ajmer Due to division of jurisdiction into sub-registration offices, the number of registrations in remote offices has declined by about 30 percent. In such a situation, the targets allotted to the departments are not being achieved. However, now the department has given the option of registry anywhere. There does not seem to be a clear policy regarding the jurisdiction of sub-registrar offices. Earlier, due to lack of space in the Collectorate, Sub-Registrar offices were opened several years ago on Jaipur Road, Ghughra Valley. After this their jurisdictions were divided. Now a branch was opened in the corporation’s shops located at Patel Maidan in Ajmer from April 1st. Due to which there has been a huge decline in the number of registrations in the old office.
Now registration possible anywhere
Officials of the Sub Registrar Department have now given verbal instructions regarding the option of Anywhere Registry. That means registration of any area can be done anywhere. It is expected that the number of registrations in the old sub-registrar office located on Jaipur Road will increase.

Registration should be as per jurisdiction
Anywhere registration may increase the chances of the parties getting registered in other offices in case of disputes. Documents cannot be verified as old documents are not online. Registration should be done as per the jurisdiction decided earlier. As far as distance is concerned, earlier it used to be in the Collectorate, yet a new building was built on Jaipur Road.
