Gujarat Health Minister Rishikesh Patel said, “Chandipur virus has entered the state. This is not a new virus but it spreads through vectors. It affects children below 14 years of age in rural areas. If you see its symptoms, go to the hospital. It also affects people from outside the state who have settled here.” Two patients of Chandipur virus have also been found in the tribal area of ​​Udaipur. These were in Gujarat, where one died. But the health department has become alert about the virus. Camps are being set up at various places. Children are being screened.
Udaipur doctor said- Awareness campaign continues CMHO Dr. Shankar Bamaniya said that the center of the virus is said to be Balicha village, which is in Kherwada block. This area is adjacent to Gujarat. The tribals here keep going to Gujarat in search of employment. Therefore, the government is now running an awareness campaign here. Doctors said that Chandipura virus causes fever, accompanied by symptoms like flu and acute encephalitis (inflammation of the brain). Chandipura virus often involves sudden high fever, followed by seizures, diarrhea, swelling of the brain, vomiting. If primary symptoms like high-grade fever, vomiting, diarrhea, headache and convulsions appear in pediatric patients, refer to a doctor immediately.

How dangerous is Chandipur virus?

The health department of Gujarat says that Chandipur virus is not contagious, but in the last few days, 12 cases have been reported. In such a situation, it cannot be taken lightly. How dangerous this virus is can be gauged from the fact that children infected with the virus die within 48-72 hours of the appearance of symptoms.
