Amritsar, December 4 (IANS). Various political parties have unanimously condemned the attack on Shiromani Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal at the Golden Temple in Amritsar on Wednesday and demanded strict punishment for the attacker.
Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu said that his life was saved because he was at the mercy of God. It was the grace of Akal Takht, which protected him.
Congress MP Amarinder Singh Raja Waring on Chief Minister’s praise of police said that CM Bhagwant Mann can only praise his government, what else will he say? The Harmandir Sahib incident, where bullets were fired outside, exposes the incompetence of the police.

Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh wrote on X-Post, “We strongly condemn the attack on Sukhbir Singh Badal inside the Sri Darbar Sahib complex. It is a matter of relief that he has not been harmed. Another terror incident in Punjab. The dark age cannot endure. Let us remain vigilant against forces that try to disrupt peace.”
Reacting to the attack on former Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab Sukhbir Singh Badal, Cabinet Minister in the AAP government of the state Harbhajan Singh E.T.O. “This is a very unfortunate incident, but our Punjab Police foiled it. The accused person was immediately arrested and an FIR has been registered,” he said.
Former minister Sikandar Singh Maluka said that today’s incident cannot be condemned enough. We may have differences, but that doesn’t mean we should harm anyone. It is condemnable that such an incident happened at a place which we consider sacred.
Narayan Singh Chaura, who has a long history of militancy and Khalistani activities in Punjab, on Wednesday fired at Sukhbir Singh Badal, although the bullet did not hit him. This incident happened when Sukhbir Singh Badal, sitting in a wheelchair, was on guard duty at the temple.
