Dholpur : Sharad Mahotsav being organized at the fair ground of Dholpur city is in controversies since the first day. Ever since the Sharad Mahotsav was given on contract for the first time, controversies have been coming to the fore. The people setting up shops on the footpath outside the fair ground have given a complaint letter to the collector on Monday. The shopkeepers who have set up shop on the footpath outside the fair ground have given a complaint letter to the collector saying that the fair has been taken up on contract by the city council. Since then, small and poor shopkeepers are being continuously harassed by the contractor. The female shopkeeper, who came from Delhi to set up shop on the footpath, said that on Sunday night the contractor sent some people to her shops with sticks and rods. Where he demanded Rs 500 per shop per day. When the money was not paid, the accused misbehaved with the female shopkeepers and threw their goods out of the shop.
In the complaint letter given to the Collector, the shopkeepers who set up shop on the footpath have demanded from the District Collector to allow them to set up shop. It has been told in the letter that after being harassed by the contractor, they are not doing their shopping. Due to which the upbringing of his family is also being affected.
