Political journey of Sachin Pilot Sachin Pilot's father Rajesh Pilot was a Union Minister in the past. He died in a road accident in 2000. His death was a big shock for Pilot. His mother Rama Pilot took care of him. Sachin's mother Rama Pilot became a Lok Sabha MP on his father's seat. Later, the Congress high command fielded 26-year-old Sachin Pilot in the 2004 Lok Sabha elections. Pilot won his first election by a margin of 1.25 lakh votes. After coming to power, there was a demand to make Sachin Pilot the Chief Minister, but after the decision of the Congress high command, he had to be content with the post of Deputy Chief Minister. Pilot alleged that Gehlot is in cahoots with former CM Vasundhara Raje. He took out a Jan Sangharsh Pad Yatra from Ajmer to Jaipur against Gehlot and also warned of a state-wide movement. Despite so much opposition, Pilot could not achieve anything.
