An elderly couple was held hostage
Harish Chand Garg (80) and his wife Tara Devi (75) were alone at home. His son Neeraj Garg (CA), his wife and both sons had gone to a relative’s wedding in Bareilly two days ago. During this time, at around 1:30 in the night, five miscreants entered the house through the basement and took an elderly couple hostage. After this they continued looting for about one and a half hours. Along with cash, the miscreants also took out money from jewelery and gift envelopes. This incident of robbery took place at around 1:30 in the night in Aryanagar (Scheme No. 1) area. Alwar SP Sanjeev Nain said – Late Thursday night at 1:30, a robbery took place in the house of Harish Chand Garg, owner of Chinar Public School located on Jaipur Road. In the case of theft of lakhs, Sujal (21) resident of Valmiki Chowk Hansi, Sachin (24) resident of Valmiki Chowk Hansi Hisar, Rishi (21) resident of Charkutub Road. Hansi Hisar, Hannu (24) resident of Charkutub Road Hansi Hisar, Aryan (22) resident of Charkutub Road and Kumari Neelam (25) resident of Meo Boarding, Alwar have been arrested. All of them were hiding in Hisar after the robbery.
Miscreants called from Haryana
SP told that the mastermind of the theft is Kumari Neelam, a maid working in the house of an elderly couple for 4 years. Neelam was in contact with youths with criminal tendencies in Hansi, Hisar, Haryana. A month ago, he had informed the miscreants about his family going out. After that the miscreants gathered in Gurgaon from Hansi in Hisar. From there we took a hired taxi to Alwar railway station. After that the five persons came to Harish Chand Garg’s house in separate e-rickshaws. After some distance, we got down from the e-rickshaw and reached the house on foot. After the robbery, they returned to Hisar by car. The arrested accused also have prior criminal records. Whose cases are going on in Haryana.
There was chaos in the house for one and a half hour
Harish Chand Garg- The miscreants tied us and locked us in different rooms. Then they kept looting the house for about one and a half hours. After looting the safe, they even took out money from gift envelopes and piggy banks kept in other cupboards of the house. The accused left the house at around 3 o’clock in the night. After the miscreants left, the wife somehow untied the rope with her own foot. After this, he came to his other room and opened my hands and legs. On receiving information, a relative living in the neighborhood reached home and informed the police.
The basement was left open for miscreants
SP Sanjeev Nain said- Preliminary inquiry has revealed that Neelam had left the basement gate open to allow her associates to enter the house. So that they can come inside easily. Even before coming into the house, she had explained the map of the house to the accused. SP said that Harish Chand Garg’s son Neeraj Garg had looted the house with cash worth Rs 22 lakh and 100 silver coins and other jewellery. Had given report.
