Alwar : Alwar The names of three youths of Alwar have come to light in the case of fraud of Rs 54 lakh by digitally arresting an elderly person in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. Bilaspur Anti Crime Unit arrested two youths with the help of Alwar Police on Friday. One accused is still absconding. Inspector Vijay Chaudhary of Bilaspur Anti Crime Unit said that retired Central Government employee Jaisingh Chandel (71), resident of Bilaspur, had registered a case of cyber fraud of Rs 54 lakh in July 2024. Bilaspur police has already arrested three accused.
Bilaspur police presented both the accused arrested from Alwar in the court. From where both have been handed over to Bilaspur Police on transit remand. Among the arrested accused, Nikunj (20), son of Tarachand, resident of Family Line Scheme number three, works at a salon. The second accused Lakshya (20), son of Babulal Saini, resident of Saheb Johra, is doing diploma related to operation theatre. Both have been arrested near their house. The third accused Gaurav is absconding. Of the three accused arrested earlier, one is from Sirsa in Haryana and two accused are from Sriganganagar district of Rajasthan.
This is how the fraud was done
Cyber thugs called the elderly victim and sent a fake FIR on WhatsApp, accusing him of using his Aadhar card and mobile number for money laundering and uploading porn videos from his mobile. After this, he was digitally arrested and interrogated a lot. Then called and said that ED investigation is also going on in this matter. Your bank accounts will be checked. After this, he transferred Rs 14 lakh 30 to his account by sending fake documents of ED and Supreme Court. It was said that the money would be returned after the investigation was completed. After this, he again asked to get the mutual fund checked and got Rs 35 lakh transferred. Similarly, on some pretext or the other, the old man was pressurized into depositing Rs 10 lakh and Rs 5 lakh more on different dates. Later, when the old man became suspicious of harassing her by calling repeatedly, he lodged a case at Bilaspur police station. The accused even posed as Mumbai Police officers and threatened the elderly man. Bilaspur police has seized the mobiles of the accused. Their bank accounts will be searched.
