Alwar : ACB Jaipur team late on Thursday evening passed the bill of Rs 7 lakh to Medical and Health Department Executive Engineer Jagan Lal Meena, Assistant Accountant Sitaram Verma and contract worker Jainarayan Sharma for the Sub Health Center building to be built in Lalsot (Dausa). Arrested red-handed while taking bribe of Rs 1 lakh in return for doing so.
ACB recovered Rs 50 thousand out of the bribe amount of Rs 1 lakh from the pocket of XEN Meena and from the rack of the table in his office. Assistant accountant Sitaram Verma and contract worker Jayanarayan Sharma were also found with the bribe amount.
Complaint was lodged in ACB two months ago
ACB Police Inspector Raghuveer Sharan Sharma said – The contractor of Krishna Construction Company had lodged a complaint about two months ago that the company had constructed a sub-health center at a cost of Rs 66 lakh in Lalsot of Dausa district.
The company had to pay Rs 7 lakh for this work, for which Executive Engineer Jagan Lal Meena and Assistant Accountant Sitaram Verma had asked for a bribe of Rs 1 lakh to pass the bill and issue the handover-takeover certificate. When ACB got the complaint verified, it was confirmed that the accused executive engineer and assistant accountant had demanded bribe. On November 14, the ACB team gave notes of Rs 1 lakh laced with chemicals to the complainant contractor and sent them to the Executive Engineer and Assistant Accountant.
