Barmer : A 70-year-old woman and three goats were burnt alive in a fire in a hut in Sangranadi village of Patodi area of Balotra district. All the stuff kept inside was burnt to ashes. There is a wave of mourning in the village due to the incident. The accident happened at 7 am on Tuesday. Pachpadra Police Station Officer Amraram Khokhar told that Ghamda Ram Prajapat’s wife Lehrodevi (70) was living in the hut. On Tuesday morning, he had kept the earthen stove outside the hut to heat water. After this she came inside. The hut caught fire due to sparks from the stove. The entire hut was engulfed in flames.
Lehrodevi and three goats present in the hut did not get a chance to come out. As soon as the people nearby came to know about the incident, they tried to extinguish the fire. The police was informed about the incident. People tried to pull the woman out to save her. She was taken out but by then she was badly burnt. He was taken to Patodi CHC by ambulance. Where the doctors declared him dead.
In the accident, the stuff kept in the hut was also completely burnt to ashes. After this incident, there is an atmosphere of mourning in Sangranadi village. The administration is also being demanded to provide assistance to the affected families. The police station officer said that in the initial investigation it seems to be an accident. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
