Bundi : 3 children were badly burnt in a fire in a Gurukul in Bundi district of Rajasthan on Thursday morning. Immediately after the accident, they were admitted to a hospital in Nainwa, where after giving first aid, the doctors referred one child to Bundi and two children to Kota. The children who have been referred to Kota have suffered burns up to 80%. This information has created panic in the district administration also. Nainwa DSP Shankar Lal Meena reached the spot and took information about the situation. After this, he reached Kota hospital and talked to the hospital administration regarding the health of the children.
Fire started due to spark from fan
The fire incident is being said to be caused by a spark coming from a table fan. It is being told that the spark fell directly on the mattress on the students’ bed. Before the children could take control, the fire had become huge. Hearing the shouting, other people present in the Gurukul controlled the fire and took all the children to Nainwa Hospital. On receiving information about the fire, Nainwa and Dei police stations reached the spot and the fire brigade also reached Gurukul of Talwas village on information.
Children are residents of Bundi and Baran.
DSP Shankar Lal said that the age of the three children burnt in the fire was 12 to 13 years. Out of the three students, two children are residents of Bundi and one of Baran district. Among them, 13 year old Ritesh Sharma is a resident of Chauhatta of Bundi Nahar, 13 year old Shivshankar Sharma is a resident of Bara district. While 12 year old Abhijeet Sharma is a resident of Bambori village of Bundi district.
Fire spread rapidly in cotton mattresses
DSP Shankar Lal told that Acharya Suresh Sharma of Gurukul had taken a class of 14 children. After this, 10 children slept in the hall and 4 children slept outside the hall. A table fan and cooler were running in the hall where 4 students slept. The children were sleeping deeply at 5 in the morning. Meanwhile, short circuit started happening in the table fan. The spark from the short circuit caused by the table fan fell on the mattress of the bed and caught fire. Due to this, children sleeping on mattresses got caught in the fire. Hearing the shouting of the children, other staff present in the Gurukul came running and immediately pulled the children out of the fire. But by then three children were burnt. The children are undergoing treatment. The family members of the children have also been informed about this incident.
