Prayagraj, 22 November (IANS). Special preparations are going on in Prayagraj for ‘Maha Kumbh 2025’. Speaking exclusively to IANS on Friday, the priest of the temple said that the ancient ‘Nag Vasuki Temple’ located on the banks of the Ganga here is being decorated with red stones from Rajasthan.
Under this, the work of decorating and beautifying the mythologically recognized ‘Nagvasuki Temple’ with red stones is going on for the world’s largest cultural event. It is believed that Kaalsarp Dosh is removed by merely seeing Nagavasuki who churns the ocean in Mahakumbh.
According to mythological and religious belief, the gods and demons churned the ocean with the help of Nagavasuki. Nagavasuki was wrapped around Mount Sumeru and used as a rope.
Pandit Shyam Bihari Mishra, priest of the ancient ‘Nagvasuki temple’, told IANS that after the churning of the ocean, Nagraj Vasuki had bled to death. At the behest of Lord Vishnu, he rested at this place in Prayagraj. For this reason, devotees visit and worship in ‘Nagvasuki Temple’. There is also a belief that the journey to Tirtharaj Prayag is considered incomplete without the darshan of Nagavasuki.
Rajasthani red stones are famous in India and abroad due to their beauty and quality. These stones neither get cold nor hot quickly. These become brighter after water falls on them. Carving on this stone is easy. That is why Rajasthani red stone is being used here.
The Uttar Pradesh government is making preparations for ‘Maha Kumbh 2025’, which is going to be held in the city of faith, Prayagraj, on a war footing. CM Yogi Adityanath has instructed the officials to complete the preparations within the stipulated time limit. Mahakumbh will run from 13 January to 26 February 2025. The special thing is that digital technology has also been used extensively in Mahakumbh. Due to which the devotees coming here will find it much easier.
