New Delhi, November 19 (IANS). Amid the upcoming assembly elections in Delhi, leaders are rapidly leaving one party and joining another.
On 17 November, Kailash Gehlot, who was a minister in the Delhi government, resigned from the Aam Aadmi Party and on 18 November he joined the BJP. Kailash made many serious allegations against BJP. At the same time, on November 17, Anil Jha, one of the veteran leaders of Delhi BJP, who was MLA from Kirari Assembly on BJP ticket once and twice, left BJP and joined Aam Aadmi Party. He was included in the party by the national convenor of Aam Aadmi Party, Arvind Kejriwal.
After joining Aam Aadmi Party, Anil Jha has said that he was impressed by the work of Arvind Kejriwal and hence joined BJP.
After Anil Jha joined the party, discussions have started intensifying in the political circles that the ticket of sitting MLA Rituraj Jha from Kirari Assembly may be cut.
It is being said that there is anger among the people in some areas of his assembly regarding the MLA. Because the MLAs are not able to provide basic facilities to the people. In September, posters and banners of no entry were also put up against MLA Rituraj. Local people had to say that we had put up these posters because, despite being MLA for 10 years, no development work was done in our colony. He comes only during elections to ask for votes. People also allege that the MLA is from Kirari assembly, but lives in Rohini and when some incident happens here, he does not come.
Aam Aadmi Party’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal is going to interact with the workers at the booth level and will also interact with the general public in 70 assemblies. During this time, the report cards of the MLAs are also going to be asked from the public. Aam Aadmi Party can clean its image among the public and give a message by changing its face in Kirari assembly seat. However, it remains to be seen whether Aam Aadmi Party will go with Anil Jha in the 2025 assembly elections on Kirari assembly seat or will give ticket to the sitting MLA Rituraj Jha.
