Jaipur : The leakage detection center established to detect leakage in water lines in Adarsh Nagar has become a means for the water supply engineers to enjoy foreign trips. The situation is such that from the year 2017 to 2021, the engineers traveled abroad six times in the name of learning the technique of leakage detection. Now the condition of this leakage detection center is such that in the last three years, the water supply engineers have not even seen it and the center is covered with grass and wild vines. On the other hand, the situation in the city is such that 15 percent of the water supplied to the city from the Bisalpur system, i.e. 5 to 7 crore liters, is wasted due to leakage.
There were many foreign trips for engineers
According to the information, in the name of leakage detection, Jaldaya engineers traveled twice to Australia, twice to Denmark and once to Japan from 2017 to 2021 to learn the technique of preventing water wastage by stopping leakage in water lines. The government also allowed these trips so that the Bisalpur water being brought to Jaipur by spending crores of rupees could be prevented from being wasted through leakage. The shocking thing is that not a single training of leakage detection has been done here for 3 years.
Grass covered the leakage detection center
On Tuesday, Patrika reached Adarsh Nagar and inspected the leakage detection training center. Here, grass had grown around the machines installed for training in leakage detection and many machines were not visible due to the cover of grass and wild vines. To ensure that no one finds out, the water supply engineers have also built a high wall around the center. At the same time, there is no trace of the equipment worth crores of rupees given to the divisions for leakage detection.
