Another new district of Rajasthan will be cut, danger looms

Bharatpur : Bhajanlal Government has formed a committee to review the new districts formed in Rajasthan. The government will review the formation of new districts by analyzing the report of the committee on the basis of merits and demerits. The review of the formation of new districts in the state has increased the concern of the people of Deeg area. If Deeg district is included in the review of new districts, then the facilities and relief provided to the public will be affected. There is a discussion that the government can reduce 10 districts out of the total 50 districts in the state. The Rajasthan government has recently formed a cabinet sub-committee of 5 ministers including the Deputy Chief Minister and sought a review report of the districts. After this, the concern of the people of Deeg district, which is included in the newly formed 17 districts, started increasing. Let us tell you that the government has recently canceled Malpura, Kuchaman and Sujangarh districts. The previous government had announced on October 6 to make 3 more districts in the state – Malpura, Kuchaman and Sujangarh. But the notification could not be issued.

The demand of making Deeg a district is several decades old. About 14 years ago, Jan Jagaran Vikas Manch and Rashtriya Ekta Sansthan staged a 123-day dharna in front of the city’s old bus stand hospital from 6 July 2010 to 5 November 2010. Several rallies, vehicle rallies, foot marches, hunger strikes and demonstrations were held. Letters were sent to several ministers including the Chief Minister.

At the same time, a symbolic dharna was held for about 119 days by the advocates under the leadership of the Bar Association in the court premises regarding the demand of the district. The dharna received strong support from various organizations, political people, social organizations including traders. Many organizations along with many villages reached the court premises and supported the dharna of the advocates. In support of the dharna, the markets of Deeg were kept closed historically on 4 January 2023 with the cooperation of the Vyapar Mahasangh. Former BJP minister Arun Chaturvedi also supported the dharna of the advocates in the court premises regarding the demand of the district.

Government believes review is necessary

After Deeg became a district, people living in remote areas of the region have been relieved from the need to travel 80 kms to get their problems solved. All district level offices including the office of the District Collector, Superintendent of Police, Police Line have started functioning here. The present government believes that the previous government created 17 new districts in a hurry without any criteria. Therefore, their review is necessary.

Know who said what?

After Deeg became a district, there is a hope of promotion of hotel industry business with the promotion of Braj tourism sector. Becoming a district will provide employment opportunities along with business activities. In such a situation, if Deeg is deprived of the district, then this will come to an end. The demand to make Deeg a district has been a long-standing demand of the public. Which has been fulfilled by the previous government. After becoming a district, along with the development of the area, hopes of employment have arisen here. The government’s review of districts has increased the concern of the people of the area. The previous Congress government has created history by giving the gift of making Deeg a district. There are hopes of increase in employment opportunities after becoming a district. If Deeg is removed from the status of a district, then it will be a blow to the dreams of the people. For the development of the area, the then cabinet minister Vishvendra Singh had got Deeg declared as a separate district, but if now the present government ignores the hopes of the people, then it will be against the dignity of the people.
