Another student in Rajasthan becomes victim of ragging, know the whole matter

Ajmer : A case of assault and ragging of a first year student by MBBS students after drinking alcohol has come to light in Ajmer division’s biggest Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital. In this case, the victim student has filed a case against an unknown student in Sadar Kotwali police station on the basis of the video of the assault. The MBBS student was made to stand like a rooster and was made to apologize by holding his feet.

Sikar resident student Ankit Sachota says that on July 22, after attending his class, he was going to the hostel via the Cardiac Department. Then some senior MBBS students, drunk, came there and started beating Ankit. After the beating, the accused students took Ankit inside the hostel and made him stand like a rooster. After this, the accused students made Ankit hold their feet and apologize.

A friend had made a video of the entire incident

The victim student has also provided a video to the police, in which the students who assaulted Ankit are seen forcibly taking him to the hostel. This video has been made by one of Ankit’s friends on his mobile. However, the Sadar Kotwali police station has registered a case under various sections against the unknown students who assaulted him and has started further investigation. During this period, the victim student was also given a medical check-up.

The college principal set up an inquiry committee

The victim Ankit has also submitted a complaint letter to the Principal of the Medical College. The Medical College Principal has considered this matter serious and has formed a team to investigate the matter. After the team submits its report, if the allegations against the senior student are found to be proven, departmental action will be taken at the Medical College level.

This is the action on ragging

If the matter of ragging of a student is found to be true, then a case can be registered against the senior student under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) 1860. At the same time, institutional action can be taken against the accused student by suspending him from the college or hostel.
