Mumbai, December 3 (IANS). Actor, lyricist and singer Piyush Mishra spoke to IANS. During this, the versatile actor said that Anurag Kashyap is like a younger brother to me. The lyricist is writing songs for an album, which is set to release in the year 2025.
Piyush Mishra has recently written songs for two films of Anurag Kashyap. Mishra told IANS, “Anurag is like a younger brother to me. I remember when he was a college student in Delhi, he used to come to watch my plays. When you ask Anurag about his talent, you see so much. As to how he does it, he answers with great innocence, saying, I am not talented, but it is because of the grace of God.
Mishra, born in Gwalior and a graduate of the National School of Drama, said, “His period in Rajdhani theater was not just romantic. However, many people think so. Of course, I was completely immersed in my work and used to work for 10 hours a day. I was very proud of this and did not understand anything else.”
He said that I used to leave early for rehearsals and return home drunk. I don’t know how my wife Priya handled these things.
Talking about his first acting job, the actor said, “Those were difficult times. It was very sad to come back to Delhi after playing a small role in Mani Ratnam’s film ‘Dil Se’. Many like Manoj Bajpayee, Ashish Vidyarthi and Gajraj Rao Friends came there at that time. I was forty years old and after that I understood that if I did not go out then I was nervous. He has appeared in brilliant roles in films like ‘Maqbool’, ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, ‘Gulaal’ and ‘Rockstar’.”
