AR Rahman sent legal notice to those sharing objectionable content

Mumbai, November 23 (IANS). Oscar and Grammy Award-winning composer A.R. Rehman and his wife Saira Banu have been in the headlines since the announcement of their divorce. Meanwhile, Rahman has sent a legal notice to those who shared objectionable content regarding his personal life.

Many types of content regarding the divorce of Rehman and Saira Banu are becoming increasingly viral on social media, on which Rehman has expressed objection and has sent a legal notice to those sharing such news. According to the notice, social media is rife with fabrications and rumors which have caused considerable damage to his reputation and are causing emotional distress to his family.

The legal notice warned that they would have to face serious consequences if the objectionable content about divorce was not removed from their respective platforms.

A.R. Rehman has shared a four-page legal notice on the ex which reads, “On the instructions of my client A.R. Rehman, I issue a notice to the concerned persons. My client filed a divorce petition through his ex a few days ago. Informed about.

“Some newspapers published this news and also published joint statements of the couple. In many places, these news and such interviews were run, which were absolutely wrong and false. With the intention of damaging the reputation of my client, Such news was spread on the media and wrong methods were adopted to defame them. The operators of such platforms should understand this.

“Such people are warned not to share defamatory content and not to indulge in harassing them or instigating others to do so. My client has issued a warning to those spreading hate and sharing defamatory content in the next hours and is informed to remove the objectionable content within a maximum period of 24 hours.”

It warns that appropriate criminal defamation case will be registered against those who do not do so under Section 356 of the Indian Justice Code, 2023. In such a situation, criminals can be given a jail sentence of two years.

It said the notice “specifically applies to online news portals like YouTube, X, Instagram, Facebook along with others”.
