New Delhi, November 21 (IANS). Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has presented before everyone the idea of ancient Indian wisdom related to harmony, tolerance and co-existence. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar said, “As global peace is breaking down, wars are intensifying and hostilities are hardening into principles.” He was speaking on the topic ‘India’s core values, interests and objectives’ at the National Defense College on Thursday.
He said that India aims to become a constructive global power through peacebuilding, peacekeeping and climate initiatives. Climate crisis is looming. Salvation may lie in embracing India’s millennium-old principles and ancient wisdom of harmony, tolerance and co-existence. As the world’s largest democracy, India celebrates its diversity with multiple official languages, religions and diverse ethnicity canvas under the Constitution, ensuring freedom and equality. Peaceful co-existence has been reflected in our philosophy for centuries. India’s foreign policy emphasizes respect for sovereignty, integrity of nations and the primacy of dialogue over conflict.
The Vice President said that unity in diversity has always been an example in both thought and action. India embraces the differences in festivals, cuisines, languages, cultures as its strength, it is inclusive and away from any division. Inclusive development, peace and universal well-being while nurturing the environment are at the heart of Indian philosophy. In the present times, the aim of blending ancient knowledge and modernity is to fulfill the aspirations of the people.
He described India as the spiritual capital of the world and the cradle of sublimity and divinity. Dhankhar said that India is a nation that seeks welfare not only for itself, but for the entire humanity. As G20 Chair, India, inspired by its core values, championed human-centric global progress rather than GDP-centric one. Emphasis was placed on unity instead of division. Integrating the African Union as a permanent G20 member was a historic achievement. The Voice of the Global South Summit organized by India during its presidency of the G20 put the Global South on the international radar. India aims to become a constructive global force through peacekeeping and climate action initiatives.
