It has been agreed to include Tonk : Samravata and the surrounding villages from Deoli to Uniara. The state government will issue orders soon. This was the biggest issue of the villagers’ boycott of voting. The Divisional Commissioner will investigate to compensate for the loss caused in the Samrawata violence. Relief will be provided after the investigation report comes. 8 villages including Samravata will be merged into Uniyara. It has been agreed upon.
There was violence in Samravata of Deoli Uniyara
Voting was on 13 November for 7 assembly seats in Rajasthan. The people of Samravata village of Devli Uniara boycotted the voting and sat on strike. Naresh Meena slapped the SDM. After this, Samravata sat on a dharna with the villagers. He said, “Friends, I am sitting on a dharna among the people in Samravata. The people of this panchayat were removed from Uniara subdivision and put in Deoli subdivision. Uniara is 15 kilometers away, and Deoli is 50 kilometers away. These people are demanding That Collector Saheb should come here and put him back in Uniara subdivision from Deoli subdivision.” With this demand, the villagers of Samravata had boycotted voting in the elections.
The villagers sitting on strike had pelted stones at the police.
When the police arrived to arrest Naresh Meena who was sitting on the dharna, his supporters pelted stones at the police. The police lathicharged and released tear gas shells. The mob set police vehicles on fire. During this period, more than 10 policemen were injured. Three STF jawans were beheaded. Police vehicles and dozens of bikes were burnt. Naresh Meena had absconded.
The highway was blocked after the arrest of Naresh Meena.
Next day on 14th November, Naresh Meena again reached the incident site in Samravata. Police arrested Naresh Meena. In protest against this the villagers had blocked the highway.
