Jaipur : A major political change took place in the Heritage Municipal Corporation in the capital Jaipur on Tuesday, when Kusum Yadav was appointed acting mayor for 60 days. With this post, Kusum Yadav became the second woman head of the Heritage Corporation. After assuming the post of mayor, Kusum Yadav said that keeping Jaipur clean and working towards heritage conservation are among her priorities.

Meanwhile, 7 Congress councillors and one independent councillor have announced their support to the BJP. These councillors submitted letters of support to BJP state president Madan Rathod and UDH minister Jhabar Singh Kharra. If elections are held for the post of mayor, these councillors can play an important role in forming the BJP board.

Q: What will be your priorities?
Kusum Yadav: First of all, keeping Jaipur neat and clean is our priority. Along with this, repairing broken roads and solving the problem of sewer line blockage is one of our main challenges.
Question: What steps will be taken to bring Jaipur to number one in the cleanliness survey?
Kusum Yadav: We will work with the people of Jaipur and public representatives so that the dream of a clean Jaipur can be realised. Our aim is that Jaipur should come first in the cleanliness survey, and for this we will make every possible effort.
Question: What is the plan for the general body meeting?
Kusum Yadav: Soon we will talk to the organization and councillors for the general assembly. We will take a decision on this by taking a proposal from the councillors and will call a meeting soon.
Question: What is your action plan for the heritage conservation of the fort?
Kusum Yadav: Preserving the original form of heritage is a big challenge. The main objective of Heritage Nagar Nigam is its preservation. Our priority will be to strictly stop those who harm the heritage and ensure its safety.

These councillors were already issued show cause notices for being involved in anti-party activities. On not responding to the notice, the disciplinary committee recommended their dismissal.
