New Delhi, November 14 (IANS). After his stellar season with Punjab Kings in IPL 2024, Madhya Pradesh all-rounder Ashutosh Sharma is excited about the new season and the mega auction.
Ashutosh, who made his IPL debut last year, played 11 matches for Punjab Kings. He batted in the lower order and played many explosive innings to help the team win.
He scored 189 runs in the season at a strike rate of 167.26, which included 15 sixes and 10 fours. His best innings of the season came against five-time champions Mumbai Indians at Mullanpur, when he scored 61 runs in 28 balls with the help of 7 sixes and two fours.
The 26-year-old Ashutosh has fond memories with Punjab Kings and has thoroughly enjoyed his days with the franchise.
Speaking to IANS, Ashutosh said, “It was a very good journey with Punjab Kings. They treated me very well, including the CEO and the management. I thoroughly enjoyed my days at Punjab Kings.”
Punjab Kings, who finished ninth in the IPL 2024 table ahead of the mega auction, have retained only two players – Shashank Singh and Prabhsimran Singh. The focus of this team is to build a solid team with the highest purse in the auction.
The young star is excited for the mega auction after his stellar season and is eager to continue his form and momentum with his new team.
He said, “After performing well last season, I am very excited for the upcoming IPL auction. It is a very good platform for me to play for India soon. Whenever I get a chance in domestic cricket too, I am I try to perform well.”
