Varanasi, 8 December (IANS). Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav reached Varanasi on Sunday. He came to take stock of the preparations of the Railways for the Maha Kumbh. Ring rail has been arranged for the devotees going to Ayodhya and Prayagraj.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav told journalists on Sunday that the holy Mahakumbh is a great heritage of our culture. It is a very big festival of our culture. In view of the Mahakumbh, detailed preparations have been made by the Railways, we will take stock of those preparations today. Preparations have been going on for the last three years. Many new bridge waiting areas, doubling work, equipping of the station, all the works of the station have been completed.
The minister said that this time there are four big bathing days. Devotees will come in large numbers from across the country all four days. A good arrangement has been made for them. This time a ring rail has been arranged from Ayodhya and Prayagraj. Arrangements for four ring rails have been made. Very large holding areas are being created.
He told that a total of 13,000 services will run in the 45 days of Kumbh.
Let it be known that the central and state governments are in active mode regarding Mahakumbh. The Central Government has also given special grant in the state so that the devotees do not face any problem and they get all the facilities. In such a situation, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav reached Varanasi on Sunday to inspect the railway facilities. Cabinet Minister Vaishnav will cover the distance from Varanasi to Prayagraj by train. During this, he will inspect the railway route from Banaras station to Jhusi and take stock of the preparations for Kumbh.
Before the visit of the Union Railway Minister, the Chairman of the Railway Board (CRB) had reached Varanasi Junction late in the night. He took stock of the arrangements.
