Atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh should be stopped immediately, Chinmay Das should be released: RSS

New Delhi, November 30 (IANS). Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Saturday expressed strong objection to the arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari in Bangladesh.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale has issued a statement and appealed to immediately stop the atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh.

The statement issued by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh said, “The atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh should be stopped immediately. ISKCON monk Chinmoy Krishna Das should be freed from unjust imprisonment. On 30 November 2024, Hindus and all other minorities in Bangladesh will be subjected to Islamic law.” The attacks, murders, looting, arson and inhuman atrocities on women by fundamentalists are extremely worrying and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh condemns it.”

The statement further said, “Instead of stopping this, the present Bangladesh government and other agencies have become mere mute spectators. Out of compulsion, a new era of injustice and oppression seems to be emerging against the Hindus of Bangladesh to suppress the voice raised through democratic means for their self-defense.” It is unjust for the Bangladesh government to send ISKCON monk Chinmoy Krishna Das, who is leading Hindus in such peaceful protests, to jail.”

The statement further said, “Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh also calls upon the Government of India to continue its efforts to stop the atrocities being committed on Hindus and all other minorities in Bangladesh and take necessary steps as soon as possible to build global opinion in its support.” At this critical time, India and the global community and organizations should stand with the victims of Bangladesh and demand every possible effort from their respective governments for world peace and brotherhood.”

At the same time, Vishwa Hindu Parishad has described the arrest of the chief priest of ISKCON temple by Bangladesh administration as a cowardly and undemocratic incident.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad believes that the world community should take cognizance of all these incidents and put pressure on the administration of Bangladesh to stop the oppression of Hindus.

VHP said that we demand the release of ISKCON chief priest Chinmoy Krishna Das Prabhu and expect the Bangladesh government to avoid the mentality of arresting any Hindu leader, Hindu priest or religious guru without any reason.

It is noteworthy that many people of Hindu community have also been hit by the ongoing violence during the coup attempt in Bangladesh. ISKCON’s Chinmoy Krishna Das Prabhu has been arrested for protesting against this.
