New Delhi, December 4 (IANS). BJP MP Hema Malini condemned the atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh and the arrest of Hindu saint Chinmoy Krishnadas in Parliament on Wednesday.
During Zero Hour in the Lok Sabha, Hema Malini said, “I myself am a devotee of Krishna and a follower of ISKCON. I am a representative of Mathura, the holy city of Krishna. We will not tolerate atrocities on religion. This is not a matter of foreign policy, but It is a matter of our sentiments that the Bangladesh government should ensure the safety of Hindus.”
Later, while talking to the media, he said that Chinmoy Krishnadas has been arrested in Bangladesh on charges of treason, which is absolutely wrong. He was protesting peacefully against the atrocities against Hindus. The situation is bad there. I have requested the government to take action and provide security to our ISKCON devotees, Hindu brothers. We cannot remain silent. This is not an issue of diplomacy, but related to our emotions and devotion towards Shri Krishna.
BJP member Dilip Saikia, who represents Assam’s Darrang-Udalguri Lok Sabha seat, said, “We want Parliament to pass a resolution so that a message can be sent to the Bangladesh government that atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh should be completely stopped. Since the formation of Bangladesh in 1971, lakhs of Bangladeshi Muslims have infiltrated into Assam and have become a decisive factor in the political and electoral system.”
BJP MP from Ujjain Anil Firoziya said that there is no lawyer available for Chinmay Krishnadas in Bangladesh who can represent him. He is fighting for his life. The Government of India should intervene in this matter.
