Ambala, December 2 (IANS). Haryana government minister Anil Vij has condemned the attack on Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Singh Badal.
Haryana Government Minister Anil Vij said that this is a very serious matter, regarding which Punjab Police is also investigating and is also trying to know what was the motive of the attacker behind this. The good thing is that Sukhbir Badal is safe. The attacker has been caught and action is being taken.
Regarding the atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh, Anil Vij said that whenever Hindus are tortured in any foreign country, they look towards India with hope, hence we should support the Hindu brothers. Chinmoy Krishnadas should be released.
In fact, Narayan Singh Chaura tried to shoot at Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Singh Badal inside the Golden Temple in Amritsar on Wednesday. This incident happened when Sukhbir Badal, sitting in a wheelchair, was on guard duty in the temple.
Akal Takht, the highest religious body of the Sikhs, had in 2015 sentenced former Punjab Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal to cleaning the kitchen and washroom in the Gurudwara for taking the side of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim in the sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib.
Sukhbir Singh Badal was declared Tankhaiya by the Akal Takht in August after he was found guilty of religious malpractices for mistakes made by the party when it was in power in Punjab from 2007 to 2017. These included granting amnesty to Gurmeet Ram Rahim in sacrilege cases, which had led to clashes between Dera followers and Sikhs in parts of Punjab.
