Bangladesh government should provide security and protection to minority Hindus: D Raja

New Delhi, December 7 (IANS). CPI (M) leader D Raja has condemned the ongoing violence against Hindus in Bangladesh. He has also appealed to the Government of Bangladesh to provide security to the Hindus there.

Speaking to IANS, he said, “We have demanded that the Bangladesh government, which is currently in power, should provide security and protection to all minorities, including Hindus. This is the demand of our party. Now see How the current government of Bangladesh will act on this, because for any country all citizens are its citizens irrespective of religion and caste. In such a situation, all the minorities including Hindus are given security and protection. Protection must be provided.”

He further said on Trinamool Congress President Mamata Banerjee’s desire to lead the India Bloc, “In a formal meeting it was decided that Indian National Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge will be the President of the India Bloc. Mallikarjun Kharge, who is the President of the Indian National Congress She is the President and President of India Bloc, she should react on this issue. We don’t know what she is saying, what she is demanding, it is the job of the Congress party to react on it.”

He further said, “Congress Party is the largest secular party in the country. When India Bloc was formed, its objective was to save the country, defeat BJP and the slogan was “Save India, Remove BJP”. But, at the time of elections, The distribution of seats could not be done properly in which all the parties, including the Left, were included, this is an issue on which we have spoken openly.

Let us tell you that the plan of the opposition parties to unite to challenge the NDA before the Lok Sabha elections 2024 seems to be falling apart. In fact, in 2023, 26 major opposition parties of the country had decided to jointly participate in the Lok Sabha elections. Also, these parties together formed the Indi alliance (Indian National Development Inclusive Alliance). The leadership of this alliance is currently with Congress, whose president is Mallikarjun Kharge. However, after the Lok Sabha elections, the alliance did not get a majority, and now the parties involved in it are seen gradually separating from it.
