Banswara : In the five-year-old case of opium smuggling, on Wednesday, Special Court NDPS Court Judge Arun Kumar Aggarwal found the accused Nathulal Rebari guilty and sentenced him to 5 years of rigorous imprisonment. He was also punished with a financial penalty of Rs 50 thousand. Lock Prosecutor Yogesh Sempura said that the case is of Arthuna police station area of May 8, 2019. SHO Gajendra Singh received information about the absconding accused under NDPS Act, Nathulal Rebari of Bedwa Partapur Garhi, near a hotel.
On which the police station officer left with his job and reached that hotel in Partapur. But accused Nathulal was not found. After which the police started searching and got the news at 2:15 pm that the accused was standing on the main road in front of Panchayat Samiti Garhi. As soon as the police arrived, a person started running away from there. But Jabte caught him. The person was identified as Nathulal.
Nathulal was nervous and was repeatedly touching his pants pocket. When the two inspectors searched him, 57 grams of opium was recovered in a polythene bag from his pant pocket. He was arrested for not having any license for transportation. Later the police investigated and presented the challan.
