Banswara News Desk: The special court on Thursday sentenced 20 years of rigorous imprisonment to the accused of raping a 10th class student in Banswara. The court also punished the culprit with a fine of Rs 20,000. The matter is 5 years old.
The victim had died before the evidence could be recorded in the court, but on the basis of the medical report, witnesses and existing evidence, the court found the accused Poonamchand guilty and sentenced him. On January 3, 2020, the victim gave a written report at MGH Ratlam. In which it was told that she is a student of class 10th. About one and a half years before giving the report, she had met Poonam Chand at her cousin’s wedding. Where he got acquainted. The victim used to talk to Poonam Chand on mobile. In April 2019, the accused called her to her house for a conversation. The accused lured her into marriage and raped her. Due to Poonamchand’s refusal, the victim did not tell anyone about the incident.
Similarly, the accused called the victim to her house and raped her 2-3 times. After this she came to know that she was pregnant so she told this to Poonamchand. On which Poonamchand refused to marry. Later, Poonam Chand called the victim to Danpur market and gave her pills to consume, due to which the girl’s health deteriorated. On this the victim’s family brought her to Ratlam Hospital. Where after examination the doctor told that she was two and a half months pregnant.
