Banswara guard sentenced to 10 years for misbehavior

Banswara News Desk: The court punished the then jail guard Laxmanlal, who was found guilty of raping a female colleague, with 10 years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50,000. The incident is four years old. On September 10, 2019, the victim had lodged a complaint in the police station. In which it was told that she was a jail guard in the district jail. That colleague lived in the jail quarters with two other women.

The victim lived alone in the front room, while the other two colleagues lived in the back room. There were separate rooms for entry and exit in both the rooms. She was resting in her quarters after duty around 11 pm on 8th September. Accused jail guard Laxmanlal also lived there, who called and said to open the gate, he is coming. The victim was in the common bathroom at that time. The accused came inside from the back gate, at that time both his female colleagues were not in the room.

He forcefully entered the victim’s room and committed atrocities at her with a knife. The accused was arrested on the report. Public Prosecutor Yogesh Sompura said that after hearing the parties and on the basis of existing evidence, District and Sessions Court Judge Arun Kumar Aggarwal punished the jail guard Laxmanlal, who was guilty of excesses, with 10 years of rigorous imprisonment.
