Barmer : Samdari police of Balotra district has exposed the water theft gang and arrested a thief. The accused has been arrested after about 20 months. At present, the police have started interrogating the accused associates and searching for them. Accused Dhawa Umaid Sagar used to steal water from the pipeline of Samdari Khandap Project.
According to the police- Project Manager Deepak Garg, son of Satpal, resident of Plate No. 122, Housing Board Flat 51, Chandigarh had given the report on 11 February 2023. In which it was told that I am working on the post of Dhawa Umaid Sagar Samdari Khandap Project Manager. Under the scheme, during the supply of water in the villages, people in the villages Majal, Ranideshipura, Ajit, Charan Ka Bada, Jethantari have been stealing water by making illegal connections in the water pipeline for the last few months. Based on the report, Samdari police registered a case under various sections of the IPC including PDPP.
According to Samdari police, on the basis of technical and information, the thieves who stole water were searched. But the accused was absconding for the last 20 months. While searching for the thief, the accused Mangilal (56), son of Dhanaram, resident of Meghwals, Majal Samdari, was detained. After interrogation, the accused confessed to stealing water. Other thieves involved in the theft case are being searched. Head constable Jagdish, constable Rakesh Kumar, Somanilal were involved in the action.
