Barmer Developing leadership skills among disabled people key to social development

Barmer : Only by developing equality and leadership capacity in the society, the ideology of equality can be truly developed in the society. This was said by Lata Kachhwaha, joint secretary of the organization, in a program organized on the occasion of World Disability Day at Shri Satya Sai Blind, Dumb and Deaf School.

Institution Principal Anil Sharma said that December 3 is celebrated as International Day for Disabled in the world. This year’s theme is Promoting Leadership among Persons with Disabilities for an Inclusive and Sustainable Future. The purpose of celebrating it together all over the world is to promote the rights of persons with disabilities in all spheres of society and to increase awareness about people with disabilities in social, political, economic and cultural life. The first awareness rally was organized in the school. After this, various games were organized for the disabled. In which competitions like tug of war, spoon race, jalegi race, braille writing and reading etc. were organised. Stalls like Paani Puri, hair cutting, balloon bursting etc. were set up during the programme.

Madhusingh, Rajaram, Dharampal, Mohbat Singh, Rajesh Kantiwal, Banshidhar, Jagpal Singh, Mahendra Kumar, Happylal Meena, Bheraram, Dungarram, Shankarlal, Babu Jakhar, Kamla, Vimala Bamaniya, Mani Devi etc. provided support in the program. A total of 140 people including 115 children participated in the program.
