Barmer District Council auctioned weavers association shops without giving notice

Barmer : The shops allotted to Rajasthan State Weavers Cooperative Union Limited 35 years ago by the Zilla Parishad were auctioned without issuing any notice. The Weavers’ Association is not aware of the auction of shops of Rajasthan State Weavers’ Cooperative Union Limited which are running on rent. The MD of the Weavers Association says that the rent of the shops is being paid by the association.

When was the auction of shops conducted by the Zilla Parishad? No notice has been issued to us regarding this. At the same time, the council has also auctioned 6 thousand square feet of dilapidated roof of the building in the same auction. PWD XEN Andaram said that the building is old, the plaster is peeling off from the roof, hence no construction can be done on the roof.

35 years ago, Rudip had got shops constructed near Mahavir Park on behalf of the Zilla Parishad. After this, in 1990, a shop and hall were given on rent to Rajasthan State Weavers Cooperative Union Limited. The nearby shop and two halls have been given to the Vishwakarma Construction Supply and Marketing Institute of the Zilla Parishad. There are a total of 13 shops and 4 halls in this Zilla Parishad building. There are 7 shops on the road front. Two shops, three halls and a roof were auctioned by the council on October 7. They have been given on rent for 3 years. 2 percent earnest money of rent has been taken from the bidders.
