Barmer : As part of the public awareness campaign against the increasing drug addiction among the youth, a one-day seminar on the topic ‘Drug addiction destroys life’ was organized by Group for People on Thursday in the auditorium of Medical College, Barmer. Chief guest Hospital Superintendent Dr. BL Masuria, special guests Rawat Tribhuvan Singh Rathod, Deepak Kadwasra, Azad Singh Rathod, Derajram Choudhary, psychiatrist Dr. Girish Chandra Baniya participated in the program.
During this, an oath was taken to make the state drug free by planting fifty saplings. During this, a message was given to the youth by forming a human chain against drugs. Chandan Singh Bhati, founder of Group for People, said that the chief guest of the program, Dr. BL Masuria, talked about staying away from drugs and achieving goals through discipline and hard work. Chairman of the program, Rawat Tribhuvan Singh Rathod, while discussing the ill effects of drugs with the youth, expressed concern over the generation that considers drugs as a social status in the modern era. Spokesperson Deepak Kadwasra asked doctors to spread awareness against drug abuse in the future, considering them as role models of the society.
Spokesperson Azad Singh Rathore said that drug addiction is a disease which ruins our life, mental peace and family. Deraj Ram Choudhary termed drug addiction as a curse and appealed to everyone to end it. ​​Psychiatrist Dr. Girish Chandra Baniya explained about the types of addiction and mentioned the medicines. Senior member Mahesh Dadani expressed gratitude in the program. Dr. Deepak Tanwar, ML Khatri, Aditya Sharma, Harpal Singh Rao, Suresh Golechha, Roshan Khan, Amit Bohra, Jai Parmar, Muskaan Meghwal, Sonia Jangid, Deepa Gaur, Rekha Chandak, Bhajanlal Panwar, Bhuta Khan, Abrar Khan, Swaroop Singh Bhati, Ashwini Ramawat, Champa Lal Jinagar, Karanpal Singh Kotra, Multan Singh, Jogendra Saraf, Nimbaram, Dalaram, Bhanwar Chaudhary, Dheeraj Sain, Bhavesh Chhangani were present in the program.
