Barmer : Logistics Department has taken major action against misuse of domestic gas in Balotra district. The team took action against 6 establishments and seized 458 gas cylinders. After this there was a stir in the district. The department registered a case against him for violating the Liquefied Petroleum Gas Act after he was found misusing domestic gas. Action was taken to seize the gas cylinder under Section 3/7. District Logistics Officer Kanvararam said- Action was taken on the instructions of the District Collector to stop commercial misuse of domestic cylinders in Balotra district.
When unauthorized storage and misuse of cylinders was found, action was taken to confiscate the cylinders and clear violation of the provisions related to supply of liquefied petroleum gas was found on the spot. 9 cylinders of 19 kg each were seized at M/s Jaika Chicken Corner, 3 cylinders of 14 kg each at M/s KGF Chicken Corner, 3 cylinders of 14 kg each at M/s New KGF.
2 cylinders of 14 kg each were seized from Chicken Corner and 4 cylinders of 14 kg each were seized from M/s Man Radhe Sweets. Also, 251 cylinders of 14 kg, 107 cylinders of 19 kg, 38 cylinders of 5 kg, 39 cylinders of 2 kg were stored illegally in the shed of Jitendra Singh, son of Mohan Singh, resident of Jasol and illegally in the shed of Nemichand, son of Mangalaram, resident of Jasol. 5 cylinders of 14 kg each stored from were seized. He said that all the food and other establishments in the district where gas cylinders are used have been instructed to use commercial gas cylinders in their establishments. If any establishment is found misusing domestic gas cylinders, then action will be taken against them by confiscating the gas cylinder under Section 3/7 of the Essential Commodities Act 1955 for violating the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Regulation of Supply and Distribution) Order 2000.
