Barmer : A case has come to light where a married woman from Maharashtra was trapped in a love trap and sold to a broker in Ahmedabad for Rs 3 lakh and then got her married to someone else. On receiving the information, the woman’s husband and mother-in-law reached Barmer and appealed to the SP, after which the woman was found and shifted to Sakhi Centre. However, the police refused to hand over the woman as the husband did not have any valid marriage document. Besides, the family members of the woman are also being contacted so that further action can be taken.
The matter is of Shiv police station area of Barmer. Actually, a young man (29) resident of Nalasopara Palghar, Maharashtra told that 3 years ago he had married a girl named Pooja (name changed) in the temple. He has a 2 year old son. Then his relations with the girl’s parents deteriorated. After a few months of marriage, his wife had an affair with a young man. After this, we both husband and wife started fighting. The wife left him and ran away with her lover.
Ex-husband said- there are no legal documents of marriage
The ex-husband said- he does not have any legal documents of marriage. We got married in the temple. That’s why the documents were not made. We also have a 2 year old son. About 6-7 months ago, a young man lured his wife into a love trap and took her away. Information was received through a broker in Ahmedabad that the woman was sold and married to a young man from Shiv area of Barmer for around Rs 3.5 lakh.
