Barmer : A case of drowning of a married woman in a tank has come to light. The family members saw the woman’s body floating and informed the people nearby. On receiving the information, police and DSP reached the spot. The incident took place in Bhurtia village of Nagana police station area of Barmer district. After calling the in-laws, the body was taken out of the tank and kept in the mortuary of Barmer Medical College Hospital. Police will take further action based on the report of family members. According to the police, Leela Devi (22), wife of Nemaram Suthar, resident of Bhurtia, cooked food at her maternal home on Saturday night and slept after eating the food.
Only Leela and her father Khartha Ram were in the house. At night both were sleeping in separate rooms. The woman was also studying at night. When father Khartha Ram woke up from sleep on Sunday morning, he looked in the room but did not find the woman. They searched here and there but could not find her. When they saw slippers on the tank outside the house, they became suspicious. After this, when I looked in the tank, Leela’s body was floating in water. On receiving information, police reached the spot. DSP Arvind Jagid said- In-laws were informed. The woman’s body was taken out of the tank in the presence of her parents. The family members gave the report. He has not expressed any doubt in this. After post-mortem, the body was handed over to the relatives.
