Barmer Overbridge work stopped near Mahavir Circle since last 70 days

Barmer News Desk: The work of the fourth four-lane overbridge being built by the National Highway Authority at a cost of Rs 55.28 crore at the railway crossing near Mahavir Circle on Gadra Road in the city has been stopped for two and a half months. The work is stuck due to lack of coordination between NHAI and railway officials. In such a situation, due to the ongoing construction work for the last one year, vehicles have to take a detour from Langera, about 10 km away. The work of the largest 967 meter long and 21.50 meter wide ROB being built in the city, from Ambedkar Circle and Shanidev Temple to the railway line on both sides, has been completed by NHAI. Of this, 28 meters of work is still left on railway land. Now the material for the work to be done on railway land under the supervision of Railways is yet to be tested by RDSO. In such a situation, ROB work is stuck.

NHI XEN Indraprakash Chaudhary says that the ROB work on both sides has been completed by NHAI two and a half months ago. Now the work of railway crossing is left which will be done under the supervision of Railways. The material will be tested by RDSO after inspection by Railway officials. Railways was informed through correspondence two months ago, but railway officials did not come to the spot. Railway’s Assistant Engineer Sanjay Jain says that permission has been given from our side. NHAI will send the material to Research, Design and Standards Organization (RDSO) for testing, after which the work will start. Barmer-Ramsar-Gadra Road Highway will be connected to the ROB to be built on Mahavir Circle. This will extend from Ambedkar Circle to Mahavir Circle till Shanidev Temple.
