Barmer team of 50 artists and 25 women craftsmen leaves for Mumbai

Barmer : Barmer based Ruma Devi Foundation has taken an initiative to give recognition to the rich art and culture of Rajasthan on the national and international platform. Rumana Rangotsav will be organized on 13th December at Mukti Cultural Auditorium, Andheri West, Mumbai. Barmer SP Narendra Singh Meena and litterateur Deep Singh Bhati inaugurated the program by flagging off. In this colorful cultural program, folk genres like traditional veena bhajans of Rajasthan, Kabir’s verses, speeches of Gorakh, Mirabai, Dungarpuri etc. and amazing veena playing will be showcased. The aim of the program is to promote Marwari folk culture in a metropolis like Mumbai and to bring the rich heritage of Rajasthan to the audience.

A special group of 50 Veena Bhajan artistes and 25 women artisans have left from Barmer to participate in the Rumana Rangotsav program. This group includes children as young as 8 years old and experienced artists. This team has left from Ruma Devi Craft Center in Barmer. SP Meena said that Rumayana Rangotsav is not just a cultural event, but a powerful platform to promote the folk traditions, music and art of Rajasthan. This initiative is also an inspiration towards women empowerment and art conservation. Deep Singh Bhati called it a moment of pride for Barmer and Marwari culture. He said that this effort will bring fame to Barmer region at national and international level.
