Battery based mobile flour mill system launched in Darbhanga, disabled people will become self-reliant

Darbhanga, 29 November (IANS). Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday launched the battery-based mobile flour mill system manufactured by the ‘Centre for Studies of Traditions and Systems’ (CSTS).

CSTS has developed a battery operated flour mill system which is mounted on a tricycle. It will be possible to grind flour, sattu and spices by going from street to street in the villages. This will provide employment opportunities for the disabled and healthy eating options for the people. It was inaugurated by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Darbhanga on Friday.

Professor Dr. Savita Jha of Delhi University said that mobile mill has the potential to generate employment. Through this mill, you can prepare flour, sattu, gram flour etc. and consume pure food yourself and can also give it to others. This creates a sense of literacy along with employment. The purpose of giving to disabled people is to enable them to do something themselves.

Nirmala Sitharaman has provided tricycle based mills to 10 beneficiaries. It has cost Rs 1.20 lakh to prepare one tricycle and we aspire to take this scheme forward.

He informed that CSTS has also developed an app called ‘Saksham Mithila’, which will help consumers book the services of their nearest mobile chakki. This app provides facilities sitting at home keeping complete hygiene in mind. Also, interested persons can register to operate these mobile units through the app. The app has been developed in collaboration with Mithila Stack, an IT/ITES solutions company based in Darbhanga. This initiative will prove to be a big step towards increasing employment opportunities as well as improving the lives of the deprived sections of the society.

Beneficiary Gulab Kumar Paswan told that due to being disabled, earlier he had to depend on other people. But now he will be able to earn his own income and support his family. He said that there is a mill fitted on the tricycle, which runs on battery. You can go anywhere with this and earn from it. We are very happy with this employment.

Another beneficiary Nizamuddin said that earlier he used to work as a bread maker while sitting in a hotel. Ever since Tandoor Roti started being made in the hotel, he became unemployed due to not being able to stand and make roti. After this, there was a lot of difficulty in living. There is one earning boy in the family. During this time, information about employment was received from the mobile mill. Now there is a lot of happiness among the family members after getting this employment.
