Jhalawar : Chandrabhaga fair of Jhalrapatan is in full swing these days. There are many types of colors scattered all around the fair. On one side there is a flood of reverence and on the other side there is a market of camels and horses. Besides, beauty parlors for animals are also decorated. Foreign guests are also attending the fair to see all this. This fair of Jhalawar is divided into different parts. The fair starts with the cattle fair which is organized through the district administration and animal husbandry department.
Traders come from far away places to buy camels and horses
The administration maintains the accounts of the three-day Chandrabhaga Cattle Fair. Traders do business here in their own way. Traders come here from far and wide to buy camels and horses, while Kartik Snan also has special significance during the fair. Lakhs of devotees come to take Kartik bath in the holy Chandrabhaga river flowing from here. Mainly on the occasion of Kartik Purnima there is no place to even set foot here.

Apart from the camel and horse market, there is another market in Chandrabhaga fair, which is called ‘Animal Beauty Parlour’. A lot of items for decorating camels and horses are available at these shops. Apart from this, some other shops in this market also sell items to decorate cows, bulls, camels and horses. At these shops, animal decoration items ranging from cheap to expensive are available. Animal farmers from Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Rajasthan come here to buy animal decoration items. Most of the shopkeepers here are from Uttar Pradesh, who sell all their goods here and earn good profits and return to their homes.
Thousands of camels and horses reached for sale
After three days, this fair goes into the hands of Jhalawar Municipality where many types of entertainment facilities and different types of shops are set up which remain here for more than a month. This time thousands of camels and horses have arrived here for sale. Apart from different parts of Rajasthan, camel farmers from Madhya Pradesh also come here to buy and sell camels. Because it is believed that the prices of animals are very good in this fair, due to which people like to buy animals from here. Apart from camels and horses, cows, bulls and other animals also come here for sale.
Horses are available for Rs 50 thousand to Rs 20 lakh
Horses of Indian and foreign breeds are brought for buying and selling in Chandrabhaga Cattle Fair. Both horse buyers and their lovers come here. Here horses are available ranging from Rs 50 thousand to Rs 20 lakh. Horses are also supplied here for weddings. People buy Kathiawadi breed of horses from here and earn their profits by supplying horses for wedding processions and Binduri. It is believed that money does not matter for horse lovers, if they find a horse of their choice then the lovers are ready to spend any amount of money.

This fair being held on the banks of Chandrabhaga river in Jhalawar has been enjoyed by the local people as well as foreign guests.
