Before Diwali in Ajmer, GST raid on electronic trader’s shop created panic in the market, hundreds of showrooms closed within minutes.

Ajmer : Diwali festival is near in the country. In such a situation, the Rajasthan government is keeping a close eye on the fraudulent businessmen. In this sequence, the GST team on Friday raided the major electronic trader Deepak Electronics located on Kachhari Road in Ajmer. This action was taken under the direction of Additional Commissioner Rajnikant Karwa under the leadership of Joint Commissioner Sarveshwar Rathore, which lasted from 3 pm to 11 pm. The team has seized all the documents from the showroom due to bill book and shortage of stock.

Huge discrepancy found in documents

Joint Commissioner Sarveshwar Rathore informed that according to the system based advance and analytics report, continuous complaints were being received against the owner of Deepak Electronics regarding difference in ITC valuation. Investigation revealed that the businessman had not issued a field intelligence report and proper payment of GST was also not made. Apart from this, there was no stock of bill books in the showroom and huge discrepancies were also found in the documents. The team has also detected irregularities in Input Tax Credit (ITC) and sale and purchase documents.

Panic among traders

During the investigation, the GST team obtained information about the sale and purchase of every electronic item. After the raid, businessman Deepak closed all his showrooms and furloughed his employees, which created panic among local traders.
