Alwar : Under the ‘War on Food Adulteration’ campaign being run in the district, a team of food safety officers took action at different places and took samples and destroyed 150 kg of spoiled cheese and 400 liters of adulterated milk at two dairies. During the action led by the Food Safety Officer, samples of Kalakand, ghee and milk were taken from Saras Dairy.
Food safety officer Keshav Goyal, who was part of the team, said that after receiving continuous complaints of adulteration in Saras Dairy Alwar, samples of Kalakand, ghee and milk were taken and instructions were given for cleanliness. Samples of cheese were taken from M/s Irfan Dairy and M/s HK Dairy in village Kala Kothi Ramgarh. During inspection, empty oil barrels and milk powder were found at both the dairies. Cheese and milk were being prepared by mixing these. During enquiry, it was revealed that cheese is prepared from here and sent for sale in Jaipur and surrounding areas. In both the dairies, about 150 kg of contaminated and adulterated cheese and 400 liters of contaminated and adulterated milk, which was being prepared from powder, were destroyed on the spot. Sample of ghee was taken from M/s Chaudhary Dairy. Sample of Mawa sweets was taken from Shri Jodhpur Sweets from Belaka Mode. Besides, instructions were given to many other sweet shops to maintain cleanliness.
How to identify real and fake
While buying milk from dairy, it should be kept in mind that it should be fresh and white in color, adulterated milk can be yellow or muddy in color.
Fresh milk should not be too thin. There may be water mixed in thin milk. Synthetic milk is very harmful for health and can also cause cancer. Doctors say that consumption of synthetic milk can hamper physical development, cause loss of eyesight, numbness of hands and feet and continuous use of it can lead to ulcer and cancer.
