Jaipur : Due to the negligence of the officers and politicians, 50 days’ water of three cities was wasted in a single day from Bisalpur dam. Isarda dam also remained empty. Due to overflowing of the dam, an average of 20 thousand cusecs of water was released on Friday, which is equal to 50 days’ drinking water supply in Jaipur, Tonk and Ajmer. After the dam gates were opened, 12 thousand cusecs of water was released till noon and 36 thousand cusecs of water was released by evening. This water was to go to Isarda dam, but even after four years, due to incomplete work, all hopes were dashed. Had the construction work been completed, Isarda dam would also have been filled in 2 days.
A pipeline line is to reach Jaipur’s Ramgarh Dam from Isarda, for which DPR is being prepared. The current capacity of Ramgarh Dam is 55 million cubic meters and with the flowing water, this dam would have been filled to the brim in a day. The question is who will take responsibility for this?
This is how the ‘nectar’ is flowing
-The Isarda Dam (Phase I) under construction in Sawai Madhopur district has a capacity of 92 million cubic meters. Its construction should have been completed in December 2021, but due to delays, only 78 percent of the work has been completed so far. The reason given for the delay is that first Corona came and then due to the war between Ukraine and Russia, equipment could not be brought from the Netherlands.
-An average of 20 thousand cusecs of water was released from Bisalpur dam in 24 hours, which is 50 million cubic meters. If 42 thousand cusecs of water is released in the coming days, it will be enough to fill Isarda dam.
-Based on the forecast of rain, 10 to 13 thousand million cubic meters of water can be released from Bisalpur Dam.
– Currently, one million cubic metre of water is being supplied daily from Bisalpur dam for drinking water purposes in Jaipur, Tonk and Ajmer.
