Before Rajasthan by-elections, 45 pistols and 63 kg explosive material seized from 7 districts, more than 21 thousand people arrested

Jaipur : Rajasthan Police has restricted more than 21 thousand people in seven districts to maintain law and order in view of the by-elections to be held on seven assembly seats. A senior official said that so far 45 pistols, 25 cartridges and 63 kg of explosive materials have been seized in these districts. Chief Electoral Officer Naveen Mahajan said that along with crime control, the law and order situation is being closely monitored in the seven assembly constituencies and the respective districts where by-elections are being held.

Suspicious persons were identified and banned
He said that in order to effectively enforce the Model Code of Conduct, the State Police campaign is being conducted to arrest illegal weapons and wanted criminals, collect licensed weapons and identify and ban suspected persons who may possibly influence the election process. Is.

Mahajan said that since October 16, 45 illegal pistols, 25 cartridges, 63 kg of explosive material and 46 sharp weapons have been recovered. He said that since the implementation of Model Code of Conduct on October 15 till November 7, a total of 21,588 persons have been detained in seven districts by the local police from the respective districts for various unwanted activities.

Banned in many sections

The Chief Electoral Officer said that a total of 4,280 persons have been booked under sections 126, 127, 129 and 170 of the Indian Civil Security Code (BNSS), 2023, while 17,308 persons have been booked under the above sections of the Code as well as sections 128 and 135.
