Jalore : Bhajanlal government of Rajasthan is going to give a loan of Rs 1 lakh to the farmers of the state. No interest will be charged from farmers on this loan given for one year. On the lines of Kisan Credit Card Scheme, the state government has started Gopal Credit Card Scheme. Under this scheme, loans will be given to five lakh farmers of the state in the first phase. To ensure that the benefits of the scheme reach as many people as possible, camps are being organized from 25th September to 9th October. The world’s largest cow rearing organization Shri Godham Mahatirtha Pathmeda has welcomed this decision of the government. Officials of the organization said that this scheme will prove effective in stopping the cattle from wandering.
The scheme will prove to be a boon for cattle herders
Alok Sinhal, CEO of Shri Godham Mahatirtha Pathmeda, says that Gopal Credit Card Scheme is no less than a boon for the farmers rearing cattle. Presently it is seen that in rural areas, people leave the cows which are not milch to be stray. Now, with the interest free loan of Rs 1 lakh given by the state government, people will be able to easily rear cattle in their homes. He said that the first phase of camps is being organized to give loans. Pathmeda Godown is making people aware so that they can take advantage of this scheme in maximum numbers.
Cow service commission should be formed in every state like Rajasthan.
Cow Seva Commission has been formed in Rajasthan. This commission is working for the promotion of cattle breeding in the state. However, after the change of government in the state, no one has been appointed as the Chairman of the Cow Service Commission. Dr. Virendra Garg, head of the organization’s Delhi NCR, says that the way the Rajasthan government has constituted the Cow Service Commission. On the same lines, all the state governments of the country should constitute Cow Seva Commission so that the lost rights of mother cows can be regained. Dr. Garg has appealed to the Delhi Government to give special grants to various cow shelters running in the Union Territory of Delhi like other states.
Know how to get the benefits of the scheme
Under Gopal Credit Card Scheme, loan can be taken in the name of one member from a Gopalak family. Cow rearing families who sell milk to the Cooperative Dairy Society can avail loan on the recommendation of the Primary Milk Society. Under this scheme, no processing fee will be charged from the cowherd for loan. This loan will be given for one year. Those cattle farmers who repay the loan amount before the stipulated time will be given a new loan for the next one year. The state government is going to spend Rs 150 crore on this scheme.
Pathmeda’s cow shed is famous all over the world
Shri Godham Mahatirtha Pathmeda, operating in Jalore district of Rajasthan (now in the newly formed district of Sanchore district), is the world’s largest cow service organization. The Gaushala institution of Pathmeda has a distinct identity of its own. This organization is running a total of 64 Gaushalas in the country. There are more than 1 lakh 52 thousand cows in these 64 cow sheds, for whose service more than three thousand cow servants have been appointed. More than three lakh people are associated with this organization, including citizens of many countries. The foundation of this institution was laid in the year 1993 by Gorishi Swami Dattasharanand Ji Maharaj in the company of saints of the country in Pathmeda village near Sanchaur in Jalore district.
