Regarding this, a meeting was organized with the farmers on Tuesday in Collectorate under the chairmanship of the District Collector. Along with releasing water in the canals on Wednesday, it was decided that the Tonk Police will now deal strictly with those who steal water by installing engines on the canals along with reaching the water till the tail first.

A meeting was held in the Collectorate Auditorium on Tuesday under the chairmanship of District Collector Dr. Soumya Jha regarding releasing 8 TMC of water for irrigation in the right and left canals of Bisalpur Dam. During this, Superintending Engineer of Bisalpur Dam Project V.S. Sagar, Executive Engineer Manish Bansal, Joint Director of Agriculture Department, Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar and a large number of farmers were present. In the meeting, on the demand of the farmers, the District Collector directed the Superintending Engineer of Bisalpur Dam Project, V.S., to release water from the main right and left canals of the dam for irrigation at 9 am on Wednesday. Action will be taken on installing engines in canals
The District Collector instructed the Superintending Engineer of Bisalpur Dam to ensure that the water reaches the tail on time through the main canals and distributary system. He said that strict action should be taken against the farmers who steal water by illegally installing engines in the canals during the operation of the canals. Bisalpur Dam Superintending Engineer V.S. Sagar told that due to good rains this year, Bisalpur dam is completely full. As of Tuesday, November 19, the gauge of Bisalpur Dam is 315.45 meters and the filling is 38.351 TMC. According to which, 8.00 TMC water is proposed to be given for irrigation of crops for 105 days through the right and left canals of the dam.
Allegations of corruption in cleaning of canals
Manish Bansal, executive engineer of the dam project, said that by releasing water in the canals, 81 thousand 800 hectares of land in 256 villages of the district will be irrigated. This will benefit farmers in their crops. During the meeting, farmers also made allegations of corruption in cleaning the canals. The engineers of Bisalpur Dam Project were shocked by this. Farmers said that where the work is being done, it is not required. Work is not being done where it is needed. On this, the District Collector has ordered to investigate such matter.
