Jaipur : The government will amend the tax and revenue system, rules and acts in the urban bodies (Municipal Corporation, Municipal Council, Municipality) of Rajasthan. Six different committees have been formed to simplify it and make it user friendly. Some of these committees will work related to simplification of offline and online services, disposal of cases pending in courts, curbing the number of disputed cases, preparing SOP for the work of civic bodies and control of stray animals. These committees will be implemented in other states of the country. It has also been asked to study the systems of the bodies and accordingly prepare an account of good rules, laws and systems and submit it to the government within 15 days. Director of Autonomous Government Directorate Kumar Pal Gautam has issued orders in this regard.
Committee 1 – Taxes and Fees
This includes urban development tax, advertising fee, fire NOC, marriage registration, building construction approval, mobile tower and other fees and taxes. The existing process of determining and collecting these will be simplified and made user friendly. So that common people can calculate their taxes and fees.
Committee 2- Offline-Online Service Simplification
Offline and online services in the bodies will be simplified as well as time bound. Most of the services will be made online and the time to complete those services will be reduced.
Committee 3- Speedy disposal of court cases
Thousands of cases are pending in various courts, due to which development is stalled at some places and revenue collection is stuck at other places. Recommendations will be made for speedy disposal of such cases and prevention of disputes.
Committee 4- Amendment of law and policy
Many laws and policies are effective for the bodies and many schemes are in operation. These will be amended and improved as per the current requirement.
Committee 5- SOP for Swachh Bharat Mission
India’s ranking in Swachh Bharat Mission is not good. Under Mission 2.0, Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) will be prepared for monitoring the work done at the urban body level.
Committee 6- Animal Control
Work will be done to solve the problem of controlling destitute, shelterless animals in cities. Currently, there is a gathering of stray animals on the roads in every city.
