Bharatpur court rejects petition to attend turban ceremony

Bharatpur : After the death of Kripal Singh Jaghina’s father Rambharosi Sogarwal, his son Ravindra attended the funeral, but now he will not be able to take part in the bone immersion and turban ritual. Ravindra’s daughter Anjali told that to participate in these rituals, a petition was filed in the High Court demanding interim bail of 15 days. Along with this, a request was also made to release Kripal’s son Aditya, Ravindra’s son Pankaj and Kripal’s brother Satyaveer on custody. However, the High Court rejected the petition.

Anjali said that it is everyone’s fundamental right to participate in bone immersion and turban rituals. She also told that she will take the matter to the Supreme Court. It is noteworthy that after the death of Rambharosi Sogarwal, a petition was filed in the ADJ court to attend the last rites. The court had allowed only the elder son Ravindra to attend the custodial last rites for an hour, while the plea of others was rejected. After this, an appeal was made in the High Court for bone immersion and turban ritual.
